YE Bookstore and the International Centre for Policy Studies (ICPS) have the honour to invite you to the presentation of the book Vitchyzniana praktyka ta svitovy dosvid spetsialnykh (vilnykh) ekonomichnykh zon i terytorii priorytetnoho rozvytku (“Domestic Practices and Global Expertise in Special (Free) Economic Zones and Priority Development Areas”). With the participation of Volodymyr Panchenko, director, ICPS, and Yurii Husiev, director, department for national projects at the State Agency for Investment and National Project Management (Ukraine). The meeting will take place on 14 November. Beginning at 18:00. The global economic and social development progresses at an uneven pace, due to numerous internal and external factors. Among the effective tools for evening out regional differences is the local stimulation of economic growth. The monograph by Olena Chmyr, Volodymyr Panchenko, Yurii Husiev, and Vasyl Pyla contains original exhaustive information about the domestic expertise concerning special (free) trade zones and priority development areas. There is no doubt that a critical analysis of Ukrainian practice of applying these tools to depressive areas will be useful in the future. Besides, the book offers a thorough analysis of the basic terminology, the history of the special economic zones and priority development areas, and most recent international expertise of their application. The monograph will be useful for scholars, politicians, business analysts, policy-makers on all levels of government, teaching staff and students. Participants: Volodymyr Panchenko, director, International Centre for Policy Studies, advisor to the minister for economic development and trade. Has worked as CEO of a number of private companies, lead the industrial policy department at the National Space Agency of Ukraine and the department of investment and innovation policy at the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. Author of books and publications in specialised journals and mass media; Yurii Husiev, director, department for national projects at the State Agency for Investment and National Project Management (Ukraine). Has lead several private-owned companies, a group of consultants, the supervising service at the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. At one time Husiev was deputy director of the department of investment and innovation policy at the Ministry of Economy. He teaches economy at a number of Ukrainian universities, as well as abroad.***
