YE Bookstore and KSD Publishers are pleased to invite you to the presentation of Dara Kornii’s novels Zvorotny bik temriavy (“The Other Side of Darkness”) and Zirka dlia tebe (“A Star for You”) on 6 December. Beginning at 17:00. The Lviv-based author Dara Kornii, laureate of Coronation of the Word 2010 for her novel Honykhmarnyk (“Cloud-Dispeller”), is presenting two books at YE Bookstore: the novels Zvorotny bik temriavy (“The Other Side of Darkness”) and Zirka dlia tebe (“A Star for You”). Dara Kornii made a spectacular debut in contemporary Ukrainian literature with her novel Honykhmarnyk (“Cloud-Dispeller”), which was awarded with the third prize at the Coronation of the Word 2010. Her other awards include Debut of the Year from the periodical Druh chytacha (“Reader’s Friend”) and an award from the science fiction assembly PORTAL 2011 – Self-Discovery, the Savchenko Prize. Her new saga about the immortals has already found a fan base all over Ukraine. The presentation on 6 December will be moderated by writer Liubov Dolyk, author of the book Shchastia (“Happiness”). About the novel The Other Side of Darkness: Young Malva, who has just gained the status of immortal, must enter the world of the dark ones. No one knows if she is up to the test. Just like the protagonist of Sergei Lukianenko’s Watch series, Malva must choose a side. The knowledge of the immortal girl are growing with the day, and the dark side draws her with its might and the promise of absolute power: her father Stryboh is the most powerful of the dark ones. But she left friends, family and love on the side of the light. The fate of many words depends on how Malva will pass the test. However, the forces of shadow must not be underestimated. About the novel A Star forYou: She is Zoriana, which means “Star.” He is Serhii the Astronomer. These two are no ordinary people, and they could not but find each other, albeit the meeting brought them both pain. Their love story began as a miraculous liberation from the world of loneliness, fear, and sin. They knew the divine joy and union of souls. But soon the time of sorrow will come, and they will have to overcome it with love which has never existed before: here it is, take it, own it, this star is for you. This book has everything a classical novel needs. The only thing it lacks is falsehood, instead you will find truth in it. A Star for You is actually the truth, bitter and clear, about us all, about everyone. Infused with sins and repentance, preserved for decades in dark closets, at last it is free.***
